The Global Education Center was founded with the aim of promoting international cultural exchange. It provides necessary support, guidance and information for international students, Japanese students wishing to undertake studies abroad, and students already overseas. We organize the following key programs designed to assist study abroad students in their education and to help them network and make social connections: (1) preparatory studies of Japanese language for graduate courses, (2) studies in Japanese language and culture, (3) help and support for international students throughout their entire period of study, such as advice and counseling on academic and non-academic matters, and (4) an environment for international students to increase mutual understanding and to interact with Japanese peers.
The Center is organized in two divisions: the Japanese language and culture teaching section, and the student exchange and advisory section. The former offers courses in Japanese language, current affairs, and preparatory Japanese language training for university classes. The latter provides counseling and support services for the international students at the university. It also organizes programs for exchange students and members of the Japanese community in and around campus.
