Ochanomizu International Student Center was founded in April 2001 (Ochanomizu International Education Center since April 2005) and renamed the Global Education Center in 2008. The Center assists about 250 international students studying at the university and provides academic advice and support services, as well as psychological counseling.
The graduate student advisers (tutors) selected from the graduate school, offer advice for international students regarding Japanese language learning and other necessary information regarding life and the university in Japan. The international student advising room is based in the “Kyotsukogito” building 3 -5F, and is open Monday to Friday, from 10AM to 5PM. The room is also equipped with computers and internet access. The next room is the international meeting lounge, where international and Japanese students can socialize or eat together. Center staff are also available for individual consultation.
