Japanese Language Courses

お茶の水女子大学サマープログラムJLCは、2週間で日本語の話す力を身につけたい学生を対象に開講しています。
CEFR(ヨーロッパ言語共通参照枠)で以下のレベルに該当する学生を対象とした3つのコースがあります。

Ocha Summer Program JLC is open for students who wish to learn Japanese oral skills for 2 weeks. We offer three courses for students with the following proficiency levels in CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Eligibility and Capacity

  • 入門クラス:日本語学習経験のない学生 (定員10名)

         Introductory Class for absolute beginners: students with no prior experience learning Japanese(Up to 10 students)

  • 初級クラス:N5/CEFR A1程度の日本語力を持つ学生(定員15名)

         Introductory Class for beginners: students with N5/CEFR A1 or equivalent proficiency(Up to 15 students)

  • 初中級クラス:N4/CEFR A2程度の日本語力を持つ学生 (定員15名)

         Pre-Intermediate Class: students with N4/CEFR A2 or equivalent proficiency(Up to 15 students)

Course Contents

【入門(にゅうもん) / Introductory Class for absolute beginners with no prior experience learning Japanese

This course is designed for learners with no prior experience of studying Japanese. Throughout the course, students mainly learn oral skills: survival expressions and basic vocabulary commonly used in daily life. A brief introduction to Hiragana and Katakana is also included. 【初級(しょきゅう) / Introductory Class for beginners with N5/CEFR A1 or equivalent proficiency

This course is designed for elementary-level learners with a limited learning experience. Students mainly learn oral skills throughout the course: essential sentence structures and basic vocabulary that are commonly used in daily life. 【初中級(しょちゅうきゅう) / Pre-Intermediate Class for students Students with N4/CEFR A2 or equivalent proficiency

This course aims to improve speaking skills by making speeches and practicing Q&A sessions. Upon completing this course, students are expected to create cohesive utterances and express their own experiences and thoughts while reviewing grammatical items they have studied and increasing vocabulary. Also, students make a presentation about a virtual tour and explain what they learned from the tour, their expressions on the tour, etc. (for approximately 7-8 minutes).
