The Institute for SDGs Promotion at Ochanomizu University will collaborate with the City of Kita, Tokyo, to advance initiatives aimed at reducing business-related food loss and waste.
In fiscal year 2025, the following joint activities are planned:
(1) Framework for Collaboration
Members will be selected from the OCHA-SDGs Student Committee of the Institute for SDGs Promotion at Ochanomizu University. Together, they will deliberate concrete proposals, including the development of a Kita City version of the “Tabekiri Cooperation Store” program.
(2) Project Period and Schedule
From May to approximately December 2025 (tentative)
(3) Scope of Collaboration
① Conducting field research on food loss reduction initiatives implemented in other municipalities, such as the “Tabekiri Cooperation Store” program, and identifying relevant issues and challenges
② Proposing food loss reduction initiatives tailored to business establishments, incorporating the unique perspectives and ideas of university students
Ochanomizu University and the City of Kita, Tokyo, concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement in 2017 to promote mutual cooperation and collaboration.
