The OCHA-SDGs Student Committee's “Shuwaberi Project” will host a series of events related to the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics.

In connection with the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, scheduled to take place from November 15 to November 26, 2025, the OCHA-SDGs Student Committee's “Shuwaberi” (Sign Language Chat) Project will organize several related events. Details are provided below.

Discussion Sessions:
(1) Thursday, November 13
(2) Friday, November 21
(3) Thursday, November 27

Shuwaberi Sessions:
(1) Friday, November 14
(2) Tuesday, November 18
(3) Friday, November 28

[Time] 12:30–1:30 P.M. (Drop-in participation and early departure are permitted.)
[Venue] Room 102, Inter-Faculty Building 1
[Target Audience] All members of Ochanomizu University (including graduate and international students). Beginners are welcome.
[Program]
Discussion Sessions:
Following an introduction to the theme by project members, participants will exchange opinions. These sessions are recommended for those who wish to learn the basics of the Deaflympics or to deepen their understanding.
Themes:
(1) Deaflympics: Basic Overview
(2) Deaflympics: Advanced Topics
(3) Sign Language in Drama
Shuwaberi Sessions:
Participants will learn sign language vocabulary related to the Deaflympics, as well as expressions useful for watching the games. A “Voice-Off Time” will also be included, during which participants practice communicating using sign language without spoken voice.
