On Friday, June 21, 2024, from 8:00 to 10:00, we held an online lecture as part of the EDI Program. Approximately 30 participants, including faculty, students, and international students, attended.
In the first part, Dr. Christie Chung from the Mills Institute at Northeastern University delivered a lecture and discussion titled "A Cross-Cultural Examination of the Age-related Positivity Effect in Memory ."
Dr. Chung discussed her research on the relationship between aging and cognition, presenting her previous research activities and findings. Following the lecture, there were numerous questions from participating students and faculty, leading to lively discussions.
The second part featured a student exchange session facilitated by two first-year students from Ochanomizu University's EDI Project. After an introduction to Ochanomizu University by the facilitators, participants split into breakout rooms where Japanese students interacted in English with students from Mills College and other international partner universities, fostering mutual understanding and friendship.
