Joint Event Held with Corporations: OCHA-SDGs Student Committee

On Friday, February 21, 2025, a talk event entitled “Corporations × Ochanomizu University: Gachinko SDGs Talk” was held, organized by the Institute for SDGs Promotion in collaboration with the OCHA-SDGs Student Committee. At the event, students from Ochanomizu University and representatives from participating corporations presented their respective SDGs-related initiatives and exchanged feedback, providing an opportunity to share perspectives on sustainable efforts between industry and academia.
The event was attended by more than 60 participants, including students from Ochanomizu University and other institutions, faculty members, representatives from ward offices and private companies, and event staff.
Ochanomizu University students presented six projects: Plant-Based Food, Non-Standard Vegetables, Sharing Services, Food Drive, Shuwaberi (Sign Language Chat), and the Bring Your Own Bottle campaign. Representatives from companies across a range of sectors—including NIPPON KOEI, Seven & i Holdings, Meiji, Sumitomo Chemical, Tokyo Gas, and Dai Nippon Printing (DNP)—also participated, introducing initiatives that reflect each company’s distinctive strengths and approaches.
Although the time allocated for presentations and questions was limited, the event facilitated meaningful exchanges. Participants demonstrated strong mutual interest and a shared willingness to learn from one another’s approaches to sustainability.
