Outline
 These days, sustainability has drawn high attentions in the world. To realize a sustainable world, SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) were set in 2015 by United Nation, but many of these goals seem not to be achieved by 2030. This class provides an opportunity to consider what sustainability is, why it is important, and how you can engage in.

Misa KEMMIYA
Kemmiya Misa is Executive Director for Sustainability Management of Green X Expo 2027, which will be held by the Government of Japan in Yokohama. She was seconded from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in April 2025, after establishing sustainability management from 2022. During the assignment, she was engaged in climate change, biodiversity and human security. Previously, she worked in JICA Kenya and Philippines office, as well as Department of Public Relations, Global Environment etc. in Tokyo. Before joining in JICA in 1997, she received a Master of Public Affairs in the University of Maryland and worked in several NGOs in Japan and U.S.A.
