Map of the University's Water Supply has been created
~Heat Stroke Prevention and De-plasticization~

OCHA-SDGs Student Committee and Academic Assistants have created a map of the university's water supply.

The map shows the water supply systems in the university, some of which are recommended by the student committee (described in pink boxes). By making it easier for students to stay hydrated by drinking tap water (with "My bottle"), we can reduce the usage of plastic water bottles. Please utilize this map to take water frequently and keep yourself in good physical condition.

It is a hot summer and the university is on summer break until the end of September, however, climate change (global warming) has raised the average temperature, making it even more important to drink water frequently.

Although there are many water taps on campus, the condition of the faucets and water (dirt in the spaces, rust, temperature, etc.) is not always good, therefore, students are struggling to stay hydrated during the heat wave.

Since which buldings are used on a daily basis is limited depending on faculties students belong to, we discussed how we can make it easier for stundets to use the campus water system on a daily basis without segregation, including even when they enter and leave the campus for extracurricular activities or during holidays.

Students' luggage become heavier once class-period starts. Since they have to bring their water bottles along with their PCs and textbooks, plastic bottled beverages are often bought because it can be disposed of after one-time consumption to avoid extra baggage. As the society encourages the use of "My Bottle", purchasing a plastic bottled beverage for such a reason has become a conflict for students.

We support daily heat stroke prevention and de-plasticization through tap water use.
