Report on the 1st OCHA-SDGs Study Session in 2023
"Where does our garbage go? -Current status of cleaning and recycling in Bunkyo City-"
On Thursday, July 13, from 16:40 to 18:10 JST, OCHA-SDGs Student Committee held the 1st OCHA-SDGs Study Session for FY2023 " Where does our garbage go? -Current status of cleaning and recycling in Bunkyo City-" at Multipurpose Hall on the 2nd floor of Hisao&Hiroko TAKI PLAZA.
The students of Environment Group planned and applied for Bunkyo Delivery Lecture(*) to realize this event. The main lecturer was invited from Recycling Promotion Section, Recycling and Cleaning Division, Department of Resources and Environment, Bunkyo City, to talk about the current status of cleaning and recycling in Bunkyo City.
After the lecture, a discussion was held among the participating student committee members, Bunkyo City officials, and the institute's administrative staff to consider what the general public can do to help resolve the situation of today's waste that may not be fully disposed of in the future.
We have continued to collaborate with Bunkyo City in pursuit of environmental justice, participating in "the exchange meeting to introduce sustainability initiatives at universities in Bunkyo city" in December 2022 and deciding to join "Cool Earth Fair" in August 2023.
Through workshops such as this one, we will continue to seek opportunities for collaboration between the local government and students to solve social issues.
