Report on the Tour of Seven & i "ITO Training Center”
On Friday, February 16, 2024, we visited the Seven & i ITO Training Center in Shin-Yokohama.
Twelve people participated in the visit, including nine OCHA-SDGs student committee members, two secretariat members of Institute for SDGs Promotion, and the university Vice President Ohta (Director of Organization for Social Implementation of Sustainability).
Instructor of the day, Mr. Nakaue from Seven & i Food Systems Co. (hereinafter referred to as "7FS"), is not only familiar with the environmental activities of the 7FS group companies, but also works as an environmental counselor. We could hear from Mr. Nakaue so much about SDGs or ecological issues as well.
The students who participated in the workshop told that thorough learning not only about Seven & i's initiatives but also the corporate philosophy and policies behind the company, they gained ideas that can be applied to their own activities.
Studying the history of Japan's leading Seven & i and its efforts has allowed us to think about measures to address environmental issues in the public and private sectors working in coordination with each other.
This case is also reported on pp.53-55 of Activity Report(J).
