We held the 1st "Oyuzuri(Sharing) Festival"
(written by Sharing Service PJ, OCHA-SDGs Student Committee)
We, OCHA-SDGs Student Committee held the “Oyuzuri Festival” from Monday, October 21st to Friday, October 25th. *Oyuzuri means "sharing" in English.
The “Oyuzuri Festival” is an event that aims to reduce wasteful disposal within the university and provide a place for extending the reuse cycle by redistributing free of charge the clothes, stationery and daily necessities collected from Ochanomizu University students.
For this event, we set up a collection box at the entrance of the university library for two weeks from Monday, October 7th to Friday, October 18th, and collected clothes, stationery, and daily necessities that were at home but not being used by Ochanomizu University students.
This time, over 130 items were collected during the two-week collection period, and over 70 items were transferred at the subsequent Oyuzuri Festival in one week.
Everyone who joined the Oyuzuri Festival was asked to fill in a questionnaire form. We confirmed that there is a demand for events to share surplus daily necessities within Ochanomizu University, and we received feedback for future events. We are discussing ways to improve this activity within the student committee, and are considering holding another festival in the future.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
OCHA-SDGs Student Committee is working with the SCC dormitory (Ochanomizu University SCC) to jointly plan events that promote the SDGs.
