OCHA-SDGs Student Committee (Food Group) collaborated with the Co-op purchasing department to sell snacks made with cricket powder on consignment for a limited time.
OCHA-SDGs Student Committee Planning: Entomophagy Consignment Sale | お茶の水女子大学
We were able to conduct this event under the guidance of Professor Kei Yura (Faculty of Science), who promotes entomophagy through a project supported by the Moonshot-type Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research and Development Project, and with the generous cooperation of the Co-op purchasing department.
Aiming to offer cricket food as one of the food options of the future, we sold on consignment snacks familiar to consumers for the following two weeks. Each contains cricket powder.
This project received a great response from students, faculty, staff, and parents. We have confirmed that it was well received, with 100 of the prepared items sold out within the first half of the sales period, requiring additional orders.
