We participated in a Workshop on the day before Cool Earth Fair, Bunkyo City Office
(written by OCHA-SDGs Student Committee)
On August 9, we participated in the “University Student Workshop for the Review of Bunkyo Ward Global Warming Prevention Regional Plan” held at Bunkyo Civic Center (Bunkyo City Office).

In this workshop, organized by Environmental Policy Division of Resource Environment Department of Bunkyo City, students from five universities in Bunkyo City, including our university, worked in groups to discuss and present their vision of a zero-carbon city in 2050 and their efforts toward this goal.
Since the theme of our university's student committee is “Sei-katsu-sha-oriented SDGs,” I focused on actions that individuals can take in their daily lives. On the other hand, students from other universities proposed large-scale actions, such as “using solar panels on all the roofs of Tokyo Dome City,” which was very interesting. Because students from various universities discussed in one group, we were able to come up with many new ideas.
City officials and others joined us in our discussions, and I believe we had a very valuable opportunity to make policy proposals on the environment based on the Bunkyo City action plan.
・The day after participating in this workshop (August 10), we attended the “Cool Earth Fair 2024(J)” also held at Bunkyo Civic Center. Please see the following page as well.
