We attended the Exchange Meeting to introduce
Sustainability Initiatives at Universities in Bunkyo City.
On November 15th, the “the 3rd Exchange Meeting to introduce Sustainability Initiatives at Universities in Bunkyo City” was held. In this event, Bunkyo City and universities in Bunkyo City (the University of Tokyo, Japan Women's University, Ochanomizu University, the University of Tokyo Co-op, Nihon Pharmaceutical University, Chuo University, and Bunkyo Gakuin University) performed presentations on their promotional activities related to sustainability, which was followed by discussion part to exchange opinions and impressions among participants from universities and companies in Bunkyo City.
This time, on behalf of OCHA-SDGs Student Committee, a student from Imperfect Vegetable Project gave a presentation on the student committee's activities and reported on the project team's results of the interview they conducted regarding non-standard vegetables. The proposed issues involved utilizing non-standard vegetables based on the interview research attracted the interest of many people, and we received a great response from professors at other universities and the university co-op's personnel.
At this year's exchange meeting, there were many initiatives related to food, and several activities were introduced which were based on “OchaEco Bento(lunchbox)” we announced last year. There were also many innovative and interesting initiatives by other universities and organizations, making it a very meaningful and enjoyable time of learning.
At this meeting, we also had the opportunity to speak with people from companies, and it was a valuable opportunity for us students to connect with enterprises. We were also able to see the last time's activity including "OchaEco Bento" had spread to other universities and organizations, which made us realize the significance of this meeting once again.
We would like to continue to develop our activities by actively participating in such interactive opportunities and sharing information with other universities and organizations.
