Three plant-based food menus developed by student committee members were sold at the Co-op cafeteria.

Report on Plant-Based Food Menu Sales FY2023
devised by OCHA-SDGs Student Committee

 OCHA-SDGs Student Committee Food Group members collaborated with Ochas (the official club of the University) to create three plant-based food menus. As a result of their proposal to Ochanomizu University Co-op Executive Director, Mr. Yabuki, they were adopted as the lunch menu items and sold in limited quantities from December 2023 to January 2024.

Rice Milk Pumpkin Soup (25 servings/day)

Sweet and Sour Stir-Fried Soily Balls (40 servings/day)

Mon. January 29 - Wed. January 31, 2024: 10:30-13:30 JST

Warm and Hot Soy Meat Dumpling Soup with Ginger (15 servings/day)

Each item was sold out soon after the opening of each sales period, indicating that the menus were very appealing to the students.

In addition, student committee members conducted a buyer survey during both periods and we found that 83% of respondents expect to see more plant-based food menus at the co-op cafeteria in the future.

Plant-based food offerings in collaboration with the Co-op Cafeteria are expected to continue in FY2024. Please continue to look for further announcements from OCHA-SDGs Student Committee. Thank you for your continued support.
