We held the 2nd "Oyuzuri(Sharing) Festival"
(written by Sharing Service PJ, OCHA-SDGs Student Committee)
We, OCHA-SDGs Student Committee held "the 2nd Oyuzuri Festival" from Monday, December 16 to Friday, December 20. *Oyuzuri means "sharing" in English.
The Oyuzuri Festival is an event to reduce waste and lengthen our reuse cycle by distributing free of charge on-campus clothing, stationery, and daily necessities collected from everyone at the university. Participants received the first one(*) well, so we decided to hold the second Oyuzuri Festival.
For this event, we set up collection boxes at the entrances of the university library and Co-op. During the week of December 9 to 13, any Ochanomizu University student and related people could enclose their items on the boxes that were at home but not in use. After collecting, we confirmed a wider variety of daily necessities were donated, such as dishes, yarn, etc., in addition to clothes, bags, stationery, and many items.
The following week, from Monday, December 16 to Friday, December 20, the 2nd Oyuzuri Festival was held at the plaza next to the sundial. Since this festival was held outside, more people stopped by than at the previous time held in the Inter-Faculty Building. About 450 items were collected, including those left over from the previous time, and about 380 items were shared at the 2nd Oyuzuri Festival.
Those who attended the Oyuzuri Festival were asked to fill out a survey form, and we received approximately 70 responses here as well. We were able to confirm that there is demand for an event to share excess daily necessities within Ochanomizu University and received feedback for the future.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
