Report on Participation in "Ethical Learning Lab":
the Collaborative Education Program by the Affiliated Schools
On Thursday 22 and Friday 23, February, we participated in the March meeting of "Ethical Learning Lab(J)", which is a educational program collaborated between home economics teachers from the affilated high school, junior high school, and elementary school, nutrition teachers from the affiliated elementary school, and kindergarten teachers.
At this regular meeting, following the joint high school and elementary school class on the theme of "Chocolate and Child Labor"(*), which was also observed by the Institute members, the contents of the public seminar "Learning the SDGs with Cacao" and the 3rd OCHA-SDGs Co-creation Consortium held by the institute on February 8 were shared. Through the discussion, we exchanged the information about the SDGs related to food.
*The joint high school and elementary school class: a class in which first-year high school students go to a class of fifth-grade elementary school students to lecture and engage in group discussion.
The school lunch using fair trade chocolate was also served at the affiliated elementary school at this time. We will continue to consider the role of the institute that we can play in an all-Ochanomizu context, learning from the cooperation of the affiliated schools.
